Infection Prevention 2016
Harrogate International Centre (HIC), 26th - 28th September 2016

Welcome to Conference!

This is my first conference as the lead for the Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) and the programme we have for you has been put together with input from the IPS Board, the SPC and also from all those delegates (i.e. yourselves) who gave us such great feedback on IP2015 and said you know it would be good if…..  Well we took a considered view at all those it would be good ifs… and looked at researchers who produce the best science related to the topics you requested and then put together the skeleton programme. Alongside delegates’ requests for topics we did a topic analysis of IP2015 to ensure that the content of IP2016 would be relevant to the widest possible membership and the broader specialty audience.  We have been mindful of emerging IPC threats and the perennial problems that never completely go away; also, aware that non-IPC specialists often provide us with inspiration and tools to improve our IPC systems – the programme includes such presenters as well.

Your SPC has remained resolute to the task of producing the most up to date relevant conference for you.  This is your conference and I thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from IP2015. So enjoy the conference; emerse yourself in the science, meet old friends and make some new ones. And keep in mind that at the end of IP2016 we want to know your thoughts as to what would be good if….   for  IP2017.

SPC Coordinator
