Dental Audit Tool
V2 Released June 2013
The new Dental Audit tool is now available for download with a full array of supporting documents available. Please make sure that you read the FAQ before contacting the technical help service. This tool is designed to run on PCs and not MACs.
The new V2 Dental Audit Tool contains some essential improvements and updates. It will also be compatible with any audits that you may have carried out using the original version V1 of the tool.
- A modified question set to reflect the changes in the HTM mainly around storage times
- HTM 0105 has been reviewed and the tool will reflect these changes
- Revision of software analysis to identify non-compliance with Best Practice if separate decontamination room and washer disinfectors are not available.

Please note that once downloaded the audit tool will not be accessible remotely by IPS. Therefore please ensure:
- all passwords are encrypted and saved somewhere safe
- all completed or part completed audits are saved

IPS is unable to offer any technical support with this audit tool. There is a detailed Frequently Asked Questions sheet available above which should cover any technical queries you may have.
Please note that the Dental Audit Tool is a separate tool from the IPS Quality Improvement Tool (QIT) which is a general infection audit tool for many different healthcare settings. Downloading the Dental Audit Tool will not give you access to QIT.

One Day Conference

Infection Prevention in dentistry is a rapidly developing field.
The Infection Prevention Society invites you to participate in our Infection Prevention in Dentistry one day conference. The event has been awarded 5 CPD credits.
The day offers a comprehensive programme featuring some of the most influential leaders in the field. There is also access to an extensive infection prevention exhibition featuring over 100 companies, with new innovative products and practical solutions. These companies will provide you and your practice with access to information on the latest developments to combat problems related to infection prevention and control and healthcare associated infection.
The overarching themes of the conference programme are to arm dental practitioners with the knowledge to develop systems that meet current demands and requirements, inform expert practice, promote partnership working and collaboration, and sustained patient safety.
The day is aimed at dental staff including dentists, dental nurses, decontamination and infection prevention and control staff.
