Do organisations still keep paper copies for fit testing or have they moved to keeping fit reports ( certificates) electronically now?
Paper records for fit testing.
Hi Claire, we have various approaches at the moment as we are moving to a purpose-built training/recording platform which will be linked to ESR (to meet the latest NHSE requirements). Happy to discuss in more detail offline if needed.
In our Trust, we have moved our fit testing records from paper-based to electronic version. Each area is responsible of keeping their fit testing record updated in the Trust’s eRoster. The compliance is reported in the Trust Infection Control Committee quarterly meeting to ensure that staff are protected against airborne pathogen transmission and also to met health safety legal requirements. The aim is also to record it in ESR so that the fit testing record can be accessed just in case the staff moves to another Trust.
