The West Midlands Branch brings together over 220 members from across the region, covering Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. We provide a space for members to share ideas, tackle regional challenges, and build connections with one another.
Driven by committed volunteers, the branch ensures members’ perspectives are heard by the IPS staff and Board, championing local issues and priorities at the national level.
Membership is open to all IPS members based in or working within these areas.
Meetings are held up to 12 times a year through their virtual “Cuppa and Catch Up” virtual network sessions, including different topical education sessions. Since 2012, the branch has hosted an annual development programme for new to infection prevention practitioners, called the Marion Reed Development Programme. This 3-day programme covers a range of contemporary infection prevention topics which support achievement of some IPS competencies, with details published on the main events page/ through the digest.
