IPS recognises the mutual benefits of partnership with our commercial colleagues in developing the science and art of infection prevention. Such partnerships enables research and development and fosters professional relationships which can lead to the development and refinement of innovative ideas and products.
The IPS has developed a suite of tools which encourage this partnership between infection prevention professionals and industry:
Product Surgeries – three senior and respected IPS members are brought together in the form of an expert panel and up to six commercial organisations are able to individually meet with them for 45 minutes each and discuss the attributes of their products, technologies or designs and seek advice on matters of efficacy, in-use features and the potential or actual benefits to the NHS. For details of Product Surgeries please visit the Event Diary.
Networking Days – on the day following the Product Surgeries corporate members and other commercial organisations join with high quality speakers from government, the NHS and industry along with IPS Board members to review and discuss contemporary issues associated with healthcare acquired infection-related and specific business issues that impact on the infection prevention and control environment. This is a free day for corporate members. Prospective member companies are welcome to attend one meeting to evidence the benefits of the group and corporate membership of IPS. For details of Corporate Networking Days please visit the Event Diary.
IPS Industry Insights Technology Endorsement Programme (paid-for service) - efficacy and in-use information concerning products and technologies may be submitted by commercial organisations to IPS and will be subject to a review process. Where an expert panel are satisfied that the required standards are reached the product or technology may be placed on the IPS Industry Insights web site (https://industryinsights.ips.uk.net/) which is an open and public site and which is being developed to become the go-to reference site for endorsed product and technologies. A coveted Technology Endorsement Logo may also be used on sales and other material where products or technologies have been so approved.
IPS Education and Training Endorsement Programme (paid-for-service) - educational and training materials from commercial organisations may be submitted to the Education and Professional Development Committee who will review their content and subject to the validity of the content may approve the content. Where these submissions meet the required standards and approval gained details will be placed on the IPS Industry Insights web site (https://industryinsights.ips.uk.net/) which is an open and public site and which is being developed to become the go-to reference site for endorsed education and training material. A coveted Education and Training Endorsement Logo may also be used on sales and other material where education and training materials have been so approved
Collaborative Projects and Educational Events (paid-for-service) – corporate members are encouraged to work with IPS in research projects for which senior IPS members are assigned to work with the member to develop and enact research concerning the product, technology or associated education and training. Additionally corporate members are also encourage to co-badge with IPS in relation to day conferences for IPS members and also parties from the wider healthcare environment . Both of these are bespoke and designed on a one-off basis and provide members with excellent opportunities to build their brand awareness amongst the IPS community.
Training Days for Corporate Clients (paid-for-service) - bespoke training days organised through the University of West London are available for corporate partners to attend to update their knowledge of infection prevention.

Our system is absolutely harmless to humans, the environment and your buildings. It is PH neutral and does not contain any bleach or bleaching agents, it does not use UV light and it does not
produce any harmful gas.
LumiBio has been independently analysed and tested on a wide range of pathogens, including Sars-Cov-2 by the Microbiology research team at the University of Alberta Hospital Research Faculty. LumiBio neutralises on contact and then eradicates achieving a kill rate of at least 99.999% and is active for up to 5 days. Our system works on all surfaces, including clothing, PPE and furniture.
LumiBio is different to other disinfection systems, as our service is delivered in live environments.
LumiBio uses an ultrasonic dry misting system that reaches all surfaces, crevices and undersides, to give a protective coating. Our treatment is bacteriostatic and immediately penetrates the cell membrane. Working against specific targets it prevents respiration, synthesis and reproduction causing comprehensive damage and cell death, whilst remaining safe to human contact.
Treatments cycles are calculated to ensure continuous defence. This provides additional security working alongside traditional Infection Control methods. Our service also includes a regular programme of swab testing to demonstrate the product efficacy. We are currently running a project for the NHS which has demonstrated a Pathogen free environment for the last 8 weeks.
