Hand Hygiene on mobile screening trailer units

Hi All,
I’ve been asked to look at waterless hand hygiene for mobile lung health screening units, specifically waterless practice in a CT scanner linked with a support unit that has a tanked water system for hand hygiene and toilet facilities.

I’d appreciate any experiences of similar projects or how you dealt with switching to waterless hand hygiene. Understandably, staff are reluctant to make this change – what did others do to reassure staff that the change will not impact staff or patient safety?

Thanks

Hello Kerry,
We provide hand washing solutions including anti viral products that are certified to eliminate pathogens and remain effective 3 hours following use. This would be supplemented with hand sanitisers for use on the unit if there is not a readily available source of water to wash hands. If you email I can forward details – [email protected]
Best wishes,
Mike

Hi, The mobile MRI scanner had no water to begin with – so our patients were cannulated in a neighbouring ward pre scan. Sanitiser for staff within the scanner – hope this helps??
