Camilla Holmes
Infection Prevention Nurse at the University Hospital Southampton
Camilla graduated as a registered nurse with First Class Honours from the University of Southampton in 2014 and worked clinically in acute medicine. In 2015, she commenced a Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Southampton which combined clinical work within a high dependency unit in conjunction with academic doctoral research. Camilla developed a keen interest in the specialist field of infection prevention whilst undertaking her PhD with a particular interest in reducing catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
In 2020, Camilla joined the infection prevention team at the University Hospital Southampton as an infection prevention nurse and has recently submitted her doctoral thesis which focused on the use of indwelling urinary catheters for urine output monitoring in acute medical environments.
