Carole Hallam

Carole has over 25 years’ experience working as an infection prevention and control nurse and since 2019 has worked as an independent nurse consultant. She has held a number of roles within the Infection Prevention Society including Honorary Secretary to the IPS Board. In 2021, she was awarded both IPS honorary membership and the IPS Brendan Moore award. Carole has published several articles on infection control and vascular access and is a peer reviewer for 3 journals. In addition, she has also been providing voluntary support providing education to hospitals in Romania since 2005.
Carole has held a number of roles with the Infection Prevention Society including Board member/England Country Lead. Being an IPS Board member has given her a National perspective on infection prevention and control. She has led, on behalf of the IPS, the Vessel Health and Preservation working group to develop the UK VHP Framework. Carole has published a number of journal articles and more recently she has authored a chapter in the Vessel Health and Preservation: The right Approach for Vascular Access book. She is also a peer reviewer for two journals.
