Jacqui’s clinical career in infection prevention spans three decades, working in the UK in Brighton, London and Southampton. She completed her PhD in 2004 and in 2008, pioneered the role of clinician academic. In 2013 she was awarded a HEFCE/NIHR Senior Clinical Lectureship, gaining a tenured position as Associate Clinical Professor in 2014. Her research focuses on implementing evidence-informed infection prevention practice to reduce avoidable infections, with a particular interest in reducing urinary tract infection.
She is Deputy Editor of the Journal of Infection Prevention and is an Expert Reference Group member for the Joanna Briggs Institute. She has completed a term of office as a Board Member of the Infection Prevention Society and was the professional advisor for the 'epic3' national evidence-based guidelines for preventing healthcare-associated infections in hospitals in England.
