Tracey Cooper

Tracey works as Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. She has worked in various infection prevention nursing roles across eight different locations in the UK since she first ‘got the bug’ for infection prevention and control in 1996.
Tracey has experience as both an author and peer reviewer and was the Infection Prevention Society (IPS) Editor from 2004-2008. She subsequently served as IPS Vice-President, and then President until 2012. She continues to participate in professional society initiatives and projects, and is particularly interested in professional development, change management and patient safety initiatives.
Currently Tracey is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Infection Prevention, and Charity Trustee for the Society. She has a portfolio of publications and research interests, including link nursing effectiveness and educational interventions to improve practice.
Outside work she is an Army Cadet Force instructor, enjoys walking and running, loves the outdoors and pre-pandemic usually participated in Mountain Marathons and other events each year.
