Use of ice/ cooling methods in clinical practice

Hi there, could you advise on what your Health Boards are using to cool skin post laser therapy please? Department's preference is ice but obvious difficulties with regards to making, storage etc.

You could try sourcing some cool packs - widely used by sports people.  These are in a sealed plastic bag which when twisted creates a chemical reaction that makes the contents of the bag freeze.  They last for about 30 misn and are then discarded after use.

Thank you, Jennie. This is an option that has been put to the department but they are afraid of ingestion. I personally agree with you and think it is the best option.
