Visors - Medium risk COVID pathway

Hi All

Can I ask what acute Trusts are doing with the medium risk patient pathway and visors. Appreciate that it is a routine requirement, but are you using as sessional, single use disposable for each patient, or are some of you risk assessing  against splash / droplet risk? Many thanks in advance for all responses.

Hi Gill, in primary care in London we have advised the practices that eye protection requires a risk assessment, and can be sessional. If with a patient for longer than 15 mins, within 2 metres, eye protection must be worn (most face to face appointments in primary care won't be longer than 15 mins.) We agreed this in a meeting with the London NHSE IPC Lead. I know it's not the acute setting but I don't know if it helps :-).
