About
Kay Miller, PhD, CMgr, FCMI is an experienced charity CEO with almost 25 years’ senior management expertise in the scientific learned society and membership organisation sector.
Kay began her engagement with the IPS as Interim Managing Director in July 2023. Between July 2023 and July 2024 Kay worked with the IPS volunteers and Board of Trustees to develop a new strategy and a business plan to recruit the Society’s first staff team. Working closely with Trustees and members of MEG, Kay led the recruitment of all six staff members. Since August 2024 she has worked alongside the new staff team to facilitate a smooth transition to becoming a clinically led and professionally managed organisation.
Before working with the IPS, Kay was the full-time CEO of the Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) from February 2017 until June 2023. During this time Kay worked with the Trustees and HIS Council to transform HIS via the development of a new strategy, the recruitment of an experienced nine-strong staff team, the launch of a new Journal, the purchase of a new headquarters and a new organisational brand.
Kay’s passion is developing and transforming organisations whose trustees and members are enthusiastic, committed and ready to transition into professionally led, ambitious and impactful organisations.
