We are delighted to invite you to the next IPS Ambulance Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting. This session will focus on how digital innovation is transforming infection prevention, featuring a deep dive into the recent success of the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

We are thrilled to explore the project that recently won the Infection Prevention Society (IPS) Award for Excellence. SECAmb’s new IPC app has seen a 200% increase in engagement, bringing vital guidance directly to the patient’s side. This session will be delivered by Daryll Lonsdale, SECAmb IPC Lead.

In this session, we will discuss:

  • Instant Access: How the app provides real-time info on PPE, decontamination, and UKHSA guidelines at the touch of a button.
  • Bridging the Gap: Moving IPC from the office to the frontline via work iPads and phones.
  • Driving Engagement: Lessons learned from SECAmb’s journey in creating a tool that clinicians actually want to use.
  • The Future of Ambulance IPC: How can other Trusts adopt similar digital strategies to improve patient and staff safety?
