Elaine is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology with interests in clinical and health research. Elaine has expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods and has conducted behavioural science research to develop and evaluate health and wellbeing interventions, including their effects, perceived acceptability and uptake. Her research has also included projects on COVID-19 health behaviours, vaccine hesitancy, relationship improvement, smoking cessation and active travel, as well as other health-related behaviours such as alcohol use, smoking, physical activity and diet. Elaine is an experienced trial manager, currently undertaking this role in two externally funded, large-scale, randomised controlled trials. Elaine also leads the behavioural science training provided by the Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University.
