Kirsty Morgan is Assistant Director of Infection Prevention and Control at NHS England (Midlands). She provides strategic leadership and oversight of infection prevention and control (IPC) across health systems, supporting organisations to strengthen governance, assurance, and quality improvement.

Kirsty works closely with NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Boards, UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and system partners to drive improvements in patient safety, reduce healthcare-associated infections, and embed sustainable IPC practice. Her experience spans a wide range of healthcare settings, including acute, community, mental health, and ambulance services.She has led a range of regional collaboratives and task and finish groups, focusing on areas including bloodstream infections, Clostridioides difficile, and antimicrobial resistance, with a strong emphasis on translating learning from incidents and outbreaks into practical improvement.

Her work is centred on turning learning into reliable prevention, with a focus on workforce capability, system leadership, and strengthening everyday IPC practice.
