Team of the Year

Celebrating the power of collaboration in infection prevention. The IPS Team of the Year Award celebrates groups of professionals who have worked together to deliver exceptional infection prevention and control (IPC) outcomes.

It recognises teams that have made a real and measurable difference to patient safety through collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to improving practice.

Whether working within a single organisation or across multiple services and disciplines, this award shines a spotlight on teams whose collective efforts have reduced infection risk, improved experiences and inspired others.

What is this award for?

Infection prevention is rarely achieved in isolation. The Team of the Year Award recognises the impact that can be achieved when people work together towards a common goal.

Judges are looking for teams that have demonstrated how collaboration, shared expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement have led to better outcomes for patients, service users, staff and the wider public.

Who can apply?

This award is open to teams working in any area of infection prevention and control. Teams may work within one organisation or across different organisations, services or sectors. Nominate a team by 10 August 2026.

  • Strengthening collaboration to improve patient safety.
