Major incidents present complex infection prevention and control challenges, often requiring multiple emergency services and partner agencies to work together in rapidly evolving and demanding environments. For our December meeting, we will be joined by Matthew England from JESIP – the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles – who will provide an overview of JESIP, its role in supporting effective multi-agency working, and the key principles and frameworks used to coordinate emergency service responses.
The session will explore how these principles apply during major incidents where infection prevention and control considerations may significantly influence operational decision-making. This will include discussion of communication, shared situational awareness, coordination between agencies, and the management of IPC risks within a multi-agency response.
