We are delighted to announce that Joanne Taylor has been elected as the next Vice President of the Infection Prevention Society (IPS).
Joanne is DIPC and IPC Consultant Nurse at Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. She brings more than 21 years’ experience in infection prevention and control, having worked across a wide range of settings including acute and community healthcare, care homes, prisons, the private sector and social care.
A longstanding and active member of IPS, Joanne has held a number of roles within the Society over the years. Through her involvement, she has made a valued contribution to the work of IPS and has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the infection prevention and control community.
Joanne formally took up the role of Vice President at the IPS Annual Conference in Leeds on Monday 28 September 2026. The conference also marks the handover of the Presidency, with current President Jude Robinson handing over to current Vice President Kerry Holden.
In her new role, Joanne will work closely with Kerry, CEO Fiona Tordoff and the Clinical Leadership and Engagement Committee (CLEC) to support the Society’s strategic objectives and help champion the interests of IPS members and the wider infection prevention and control community.
Commenting on her election, Joanne said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as Vice President of the Infection Prevention Society. IPS has played an important part in my professional journey, and I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the Society to support our members and continue to strengthen the voice of infection prevention and control.”
