Honorary Membership Award

The Honorary Membership Award grants lifelong membership to the Infection Prevention Society (IPS), at no cost to the recipient. This level of membership is equivalent to full membership.

Purpose of the Award

The Honorary Membership Award celebrates individuals who have significantly furthered the aims and goals of the Society. It is awarded to those whose voluntary contributions have had a meaningful impact on the organisation and its members.

In 2025, the Honorary Membership Award was presented to Dr Neil Wigglesworth in recognition of over 26 years of exceptional service to IPS. Neil has held a range of senior leadership roles including IPS President, Vice President, and Executive Officer, and has contributed extensively to national and international infection prevention and control work.
