The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) has announced that its Chief Executive, Dr Alex Rhys OBE, will be leaving the organisation to take up a new role as Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
During his time with IPS, Alex has been an extraordinary leader, guiding the Society through a period of growth and transformation. His leadership has strengthened how the organisation works and ensured that members remain at the heart of everything IPS does.
Professor Steve Hams, Chair of IPS, said: “Alex has led with clarity, warmth, and a real sense of purpose at a time when infection prevention and control has mattered more than ever. On behalf of the Board and our members, I want to thank him for his leadership, commitment, and the lasting difference he has made.”
IPS will begin the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive in the coming weeks.
