About
Enrique combines positions as Advanced IPC Clinical Nurse Specialist at the national IPC team (UK Health Security Agency), honorary lecturer in infection at Imperial College London (UK), and adjunct professor in planetary health at UOC (Spain).
His clinical experience focuses on infections including HIV/Aids and tuberculosis, infection control, and antimicrobial stewardship. In 2016, Enrique was selected as Emerging Leader in International Infectious Diseases. In 2017, he was a Consultant for the World Health Organisation developing leadership education for national focal persons, and in 2019 he was a clinical fellow at NHS England national IPC team. From 2012-20 he was Lead Nurse for Research at the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Healthcare-Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance at Imperial College London, leading research on behaviour and infections.
He received an MSc Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and completed his PhD in 2015.
