Aiden trained in medical microbiology in the South West, between Plymouth and Exeter hospitals, developing interests in antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship, bone and joint infections and infections in the immunosuppressed. Since starting as a consultant at Walsall Healthcare in 2018, the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly followed, giving ample opportunity for Aiden to develop an interest in infection prevention and control, particularly IPC in the built environment, hierarchy of controls, and evidence-based medicine in IPC. He has been the local Infection Control Doctor, since 2022.
