Dr Richard Capstick is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Virology. He graduated from Newcastle University in 2010 and completed specialist training in the North East.
He has been a Consultant at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust since January 2022.
His clinical interests include HIV, tuberculosis, non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections, tropical and travel medicine, viral infections, and vaccine-preventable diseases.
Since joining the Trust, Dr Capstick has played an important role in the development of Infectious Diseases services and is committed to further expanding and enhancing the range of services available to patients.
