About
Suzy started out as an ICU nurse which she loved, then spent a year discovering that she didn’t like ED nursing. She spent a couple of years working overseas in India, Ethiopia and Malawi discovering how to do nursing without running water, without electricity and occasionally, without medicines. She returned to the UK to do a PhD in molecular microbiology, and continued as a research scientist learning how to grow mushrooms on old pants (yes, really). She returned to nursing during Covid and remembered how much she loved it. She jacked in academia and came back to the NHS full-time. She now works as a TB nurse specialist in Southampton and bangs the drum for sustainability whenever she can.
