Jose Perez de la Cruz is a healthcare scientist with a background spanning both life sciences and physiological sciences. He has worked internationally as both an ambulance clinician and a medical laboratory scientist, giving him experience across pre-hospital clinical care, diagnostics, and laboratory medicine.
He has particular interests in critical care, pre-hospital medicine, and infection prevention and control, and is actively involved with the Infection Prevention Society’s Ambulance and Pre-hospital Care Special Interest Group, supporting education and professional development for colleagues working across ambulance and emergency medical services.
His professional interests include the practical application of infection prevention and control in pre-hospital environments, respiratory infection management, personal protective equipment and respiratory protection, environmental and equipment decontamination, and the challenges of delivering safe critical care outside the hospital setting. Jose also has a strong interest in education and in translating scientific evidence and clinical guidance into practical approaches that can be applied by frontline clinicians and healthcare teams.
