About

Luke Hunt is an ST7 Registrar in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals with a specialist interest in infection prevention, high consequence infectious diseases (HCID), and simulation-based education. He is a co-developer and faculty lead for HCID training UK, the UK HCID Networks training program programme, delivering simulation-based PPE and clinical management training for healthcare professionals managing suspected and confirmed HCID cases across the UK HCID Networks. He has several years’ experience managing viral haemorrhagic fever outbreaks in resource limited settings.  Current research focusses on include improving healthcare worker safety when managing HCID, and national preparedness for high consequence infections.
