Vivienne O’Connor qualified as a nurse from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2003. Her clinical background includes cardiothoracic nursing and clinical educational roles, before joining the Infection Prevention and Control Team at University Hospital Southampton in 2009. In 2016, Viv transitioned into clinical commissioning and now leads the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Infection Prevention and Control Team. She is passionate about supporting providers who do not have an in house IPC specialist and system-wide collaboration to improve infection prevention practices across the community and healthcare settings.
