The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) has opened applications for the 2026 Quality Improvement Project (QIP) & Research Grants, providing funding for members to develop practice-based projects that advance infection prevention and control (IPC).

The grants are designed to help members at all career stages to carry out research or quality improvement work that enhances patient care, safety and practice.

Projects might focus on areas such as:

  • Digital working and innovation
  • Patient safety or process improvement
  • Sustainability in healthcare
  • Behavioural science and human factors
  • Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

Alex Rhys, CEO of IPS, said: “We are committed to supporting our members in delivering high-quality, practice-based projects that make a real difference in infection prevention and control.

“The QIP & Research Grants play a pivotal role in helping members turn innovative ideas into action, strengthen patient care, and build research skills across the profession.

“I’m delighted to announce the launch of the 2026 grants and encourage all members, whether new to research or experienced investigators, to apply and help drive improvements in IPC practice.”
