Healthcare professionals working in vascular access are invited to share their innovation and experience by submitting an abstract for presentation at the IPS IV Forum Conference 2026, taking place on Friday 6 November in Birmingham.
The conference provides an opportunity to showcase projects that have improved vascular access practice or enhanced patient care. Whether you’ve led a local service improvement, introduced a new way of working or delivered a larger quality improvement initiative, the IPS IV Forum would like to hear about your work.
The two highest-scoring abstracts will be selected for a 15-minute oral presentation during the conference, giving presenters the opportunity to share their learning with colleagues from across the UK. Successful authors will also receive support and guidance from the organising committee to help prepare their presentation.
Projects can cover a wide range of topics, including reducing infection, preventing complications associated with IV therapy, education and training, patient involvement, expanding team roles or wider quality improvement in vascular access. Any project that demonstrates a positive impact on vascular access practice, patient safety or the patient experience is encouraged.
Abstracts should be between 300 and 500 words and include a background, aim, methods, outcomes, key learning and conclusion. Submissions are welcomed from healthcare professionals involved in vascular access, either as individuals or as part of a team.
All abstracts will be reviewed by members of the IPS IV Forum Management Group. Any reviewer with a conflict of interest will declare it and will not be involved in assessing the relevant submission. Successful authors will be notified by 8 October 2026, allowing time to prepare their presentation ahead of the conference.
The deadline for abstract submissions is 11:59pm on Thursday 17 September 2026.
